April Showers Bring May Flowers


What you'll need:

Paper Cups (one for each child)

Green construction paper (at least two sheets each, 3 for older kids)

Glue

Scissors

Tissue paper

Pipe Cleaners (2 per child)

Directions:

Cut out hand prints from green construction paper. How many will vary based on size of child. (3 to 4)

Glue Hand prints around base of cup to make "grass".

Poke hole in bottom of cup with a pencil

Twist two pipe cleaners together tightly, leaving about the last 1" untwisted.

Cut out 3 circles of tissue paper ...


Boo-Boo Bunnies


These little guys are cute, easy to make, and just may help boo-boos heal faster!

What you need:

  • 1 washcloth - the flimsier the better
  • 2 small goggly eyes
  • 1 small pom-pom
  • 1 rubber band
  • 1 cotton ball
  • 1 piece of ribbon
  • hot glue gun or tacky glue

What you do:

Fold washcloth in half diagonally so it forms a triangle.

Starting at the point of the triangle, fold over about 4 times.

Fold in half lengthwise.

Fold in half lengthwise again, and put a rubber band tightly around the front ...


Fun Glow in the Dark Egg Hunt


WHAT YOU NEED:

Plastic Easter Eggs ( The larger ones are easier to fill)
Glow in the dark bracelets
Candy or surprises


HOW TO:

Fill the plastic Easter eggs with candy, crack the glow bracelets and place inside.
Either hide them outside for a fun outdoor Egg Hunt or around the house with the lights low.



We chose to do the hunt outside and the girls went crazy looking for all the eggs. They thought it was so much cooler than a regular egg hunt. I have to admit I loved ...

This is a salad I recently made for a family event, it was such a huge hit that I wanted to share it!

1 Bag frozen green beans

1 Cup sweet grape tomatoes (I cut mine in half)

1/2 Cup diced red onion

3/4 Cup feta cheese

3/4 Cup walnut pieces

1 Cup Lemon Vinaigrette salad dressing (any store bought brand will do)

1 Lemon

Stained Glass Fun!


Stained glass is beautiful, we'd all agree, so here is a fun and easy stained glass craft that can be used for any holiday! We used the idea for Easter this year (though I also see some fun Fall and Winter uses as well!) Little ones love the sticky laminate paper and the tactile excercise of placing tissue squares on the sticky paper.  Little Easter bunnies will likely need a steady helping hand for this craft, but the result is totally worth it, as you can see!

Hop on over to Cheyenne Mountain Zoo for an Easter tradition Saturday, April 7th! Visit the Lodge at Moose Lake between 10:00am and 12:00 pm to color a hard boiled egg at one of the special decorating stations, then check the feeding schedule to watch as zookeepers distribute the eggs to the animals between 11:00am and 3:30pm Special treats like this enrich the animals, promote mental and physical exercise, and stimulate the natural behavior of foraging for food.
